Recently Google released Android 4.4 KitKat which came with lot of new features. Officially Android 4.4 KitKat is available only to few high end smartphones and tablets like Nexus 5 and Galaxy S3. But no worries if you have got Galaxy Star Pro S7262 as you can also enjoy latest Android 4.4 KitKat on your device, thanks to Android 4.4 KitKat custom ROM for Galaxy Star. We will tell you in details to update Galaxy star Pro S7262 to Android 4.4 KitKat.
Since this is custom ROM so having a rooted device is compulsory. Besides having your device rooted, there are some other pre-requirements that you need to take care of before you proceed with tutorial:
- First of all you need to have your mobile phone charged. It should have at least 80% charge remaining.
- Enable USB Debugging on your phone from Settings –> Manage Applications –> Development –> USB Debugging.
- The most important one: Back up all your important data like contacts, SMS, emails etc.
- Download the latest USB Drivers for your Android Device from manufacturer official website.

How to Update Galaxy Star Pro S7262 to Android 4.4 KitKat
First of all download the Android 4.4 KitKat ROM for Galaxy Star Pro S7262.
Now connect your Galaxy Star Pro to your computer and send the download zip file to external SD card.
Once your phone is turned OFF, press and hold “Volume Up + Home + Power Buttons” for few seconds until you see Android logo.
In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/Factory reset” option to erase the previous ROM. When it is done, perform a cache wipe by selecting “Wipe Cache partition” partition.
Go to main recovery window and select Advance and then select “Wipe Dalvik Cache” to perform Dalvik cache wiping. Now go back to main screen again.
Now select “Install ZIP from sdcard” followed by selecting “Choose zip from sdcard” and browse for the package you have just transferred to your phone SD card.
As soon as you follow the above step, installation of Android 4.4 KitKat will get started. Once it is done your phone will be rebooted.
