Official Android 4.4 KitKat Factory Images Available for Nexus 4, 7 and 10

Google has finally made the factory images of latest Android 4.4 KitKat available for Nexus 4, Nexus 7 (2012 & 2013) and Nexus 10 devices. These factory images are available for download and can be easily installed on supported Android device. Though Google has recently release Android 4.4 KitKat OTA update for its Nexus lineup but that was not available for certain versions of Nexus 4 and Nexus 7. Nevertheless the Android 4.4 KitKat Factory Images are for all variants of Nexus devices.

The update comes with build number KRT160 and contains all the new KitKat features and improvements except the Google Experience Launcher, a new feature added to Nexus 5 which puts Google Now on home screen and add transparent status and makes apps icons larger and few more cool appearances. For those who don’t know Google released latest version of Android last week with name Android 4.4 KitKat.

Google has worked hard to improve the memory management in Android 4.4. According to claims, this latest version of Android is designed to run with as less as 512MB of RAM.

Google update Hangout App and it will now support SMS and MMS. Very soon, HD video calls support will be also added to Hangout App.

Other features include smarter caller ID, Immersive Mode and integration with cloud storage like Google Drive.

The official Factory image of Android 4.4 KitKat for Nexus devices can be download from official Android website. The size of update is around 427MB. Once download, you can easily flash this update on your Nexus 4, Nexus 7 or Nexus 10 device manually in order to install it. Though you will not need to wipe your data first before installing this update, but we recommend you to take a backup of all your data first before flashing this official Android 4.4 KitKat update on your Nexus device.
